Pa., N.Y., Md., Farms Win at World Dairy Expo

The World Dairy Expo began on Tuesday in Madison, Wis. In three of the shows hosted as of presstime, Luther Hillegass, Keith and Donnette Fisher and Roger Greeno earned the champion award in several shows.

International Junior
Holstein Show

The International Junior Holstein Show was held on Tuesday. Judge Brian Garrison of Tiffin, Ohio placed a total of 177 entries.

Hillmont Durham Lyndi, winner of the aged cow class and exhibited by Luther Hillegass of Berlin, Pa. was named grand champion and received the $500 grand champion cash award.

International Milking
Shorthorn Show
Keith and Donnette Fisher of New Enterprise, Pa. exhibited the grand champion Milking Shorthorn at World Dairy Expo’s International Milking Shorthorn Show on September 30. Innisfail Bdc Stella 905, winner of the aged cow class was also presented the a check for $1,000.

For the second year running, Hard Core Farms of New Enterprise, Pa. captured the premier breeder banner. The premier exhibitor banner went to GMC Farm of Cornish Flat, N.H.

International Ayrshire Show
Blind Buck Vall Tri Redpepper was named Grand Champion of the Junior and Open International Ayrshire Shows at World Dairy Expo. Owned by Roger Greeno of Fort Edward, New York, and leased and exhibited by Sara Pulver, the senior three-year-old is sired by Androssan Ev-Kates Trident. Pulver was presented with the $1,000 grand champion cash award for the open show and the $500 grand champion cash award for her Junior Show win. This is a repeat win for Redpepper as she was also named grand champion of the Junior Show in 2008.

The premier breeder banner was awarded to Palmyra Farms, Hagerstown, Md.
